WAHHI and Lowcountry community members enjoyed a beautiful day at Shelter Cove Towne Centre on December 8th for a uniquely different membership event. All members enjoyed holiday shopping opportunities from participating retailers who generously offered special promotions and/or contributions to WAHHI’s Charitable Fund. Participating retailers included Coastal Provisions, ArtWare, Spartina 449, Lux- A Medical Spa, Coastal Bliss, Palmetto Running Company, Woody’s Sunglasses, Heritage Fine Jewelry, Nourish, and Fab’rik. Local community arts organizations – Art League of Hilton Head, The Society of Bluffton Artists, the Palmetto Quilt Guild, and The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina – held pop up shops on the plaza with many one-of-a-kind, hand-made, beautiful items. The holiday music provided by a talented keyboardist and vocalist from the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra added to the festive feeling. The WAHHI holiday toy drive, benefitting The Children’s Center and Bluffton Self Help, was a HUGE success! Toy collections began on November 18th with several no-contact drop off locations. The Shelter Cove event collected more than 100 additional toys to bring the grand total to over 400! This will bring so much joy to many children in the Hilton Head and Bluffton communities. Thank you to all WAHHI members and community supporters who shopped and dined; retailers and community organizations who participated in the event; and all contributors who donated toys!
