This year WAHHI grants will be given to projects which align with WAHHI’s core values as expressed in WAHHI’s mission statement: To facilitate communication among women, to encourage projects that benefit the community and to promote the natural and cultural beauty of the Lowcountry.
The fund will be supported through various WAHHI sponsored fund raising efforts, as well as alternative giving opportunities available through The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry.
It is the intent of the WAHHI Charitable Fund to raise funds on an annual basis, and then disperse funds as approved by the WAHHI Council through a grant system once each year. The deadline for Grant Applications for the 2017 – 2018 year is February, 2018. Approved Grants will be awarded in May, 2018.
What is the WAHHI Charitable Fund?
It is a charitable fund sanctioned by the WAHHI council and administered by The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, designed to distribute funds to charitable organizations who have programs specifically for women and children in need and who meet criteria as set forth in the Grant Application.
What is the Fund’s Mission Statement?
The mission of the Women’s Association of Hilton Head Island Charitable Fund is to provide the resources for the support of charitable programs and interests of the Women’s Associaiton of Hilton Head Island.
What will the Fund Do?
The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide the resources for grants and distributions made in fulfillment of the mission of the Fund.
How does the fund work?
Local charities are encouraged to review the WAHHI Charitable Fund Grant Application and apply for grants that support programs designed specifically for the benefit of women and children. All applications will be reviewed by the WAHHI Charitable Fund Committee and awards will be submitted to the WAHHI Council for approval. Awards will be presented to approved Charities in May, 2017.
What can you do to support the Fund?

Or, you may make a donation at a WAHHI Luncheon. Luncheons are scheduled in September, December, February and May of the WAHHI year.
